Understanding Medicare in the New Era

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) will enact sweeping changes in healthcare reform and significantly impact the multiple sclerosis (MS) community -- including those who already receive Medicare. Presenters Katherine Fitzpatrick of The Medicare Rights Center and Margaret Weisser of MSAA provide an understandable explanation of the new rules of Medicare under the ACA. Topics covered include an:

  • Overview of common insurance terms (co-pay, co-insurance, etc.)
  • Understanding of the broad changes to Medicare (Donut Hole closure, preventative coverage, etc.)
  • Explanation of Medicare Advantage Plans, Medigap & Part D Planning

The one-hour webinar concludes with a lively Q & A session and a listing of helpful resources on Medicare.
